When we want to syncing a subtitle, sometimes we need subtitle editor to do so. There are lots of subtitle editor, but which one is the best among the others? This is my best free subtitle editor in 2019.

Subtitle Edit

Subtitle Edit is a free and open-source editor for subtitle (to create, edit, adjust or synchronize subtitles for videos). You can easily sync a subtitle with the video in several different ways.

Subtitle Edit most supports 200+ subtitle formats and available in 29 languages. With a lot of features that its offer and the ease of its use, makes Subtitle Edit worth to be the best subtitle editor at the moment.

Unlike other subtitle editor who already does not give the update to the software, Subtitle Edit until now (21 March 2019) is still active doing the updates continuously.


Aegisub

Aegisub is a free, cross-platform open source program for creating and modifying subtitles. It supports translation in nearly 30 different languages. Aegisub Advanced has 3 different versions for 3 different operating systems, Windows, OS X, and Unix.

Most used by fansubber around the world, makes Aegisub became popular among anime lovers.
In fansubbing terms, Aegisub is used for translating, timing, editing, typesetting, quality checking, and karaoke. Advanced subtitle styling is the reason why Aegisub most used by almost all fansubber.

Even though Aegisub still not doing the update since 2014, Aegisub is still popular until now.

Actually, you can create the SRT file/subtitle for a video with notepad. However, that method is not effective and will take a lot of time to do because it will bother you to open media player every time.

Luckily, there is subtitle creator software like Subtitle Edit or Aegisub that you can use easily to create a SRT file for video by adjusting the video.

I don't know which software is the best for making and modifying SRT file/subtitle. But in here, I am going to use my favorite subtitle creator software, Subtitle Edit.

Subtitle Edit is a light subtitle creator software and least RAM Consuming. With a simple user interface, makes you could do the operation easily . Create the file SubtitleEdit using the srt is easy, here's how the steps:

STEPS :

1. Download and Install Subtitle Edit according to your processor (32 bit or 64 bit) [MUST].

2. Download LAVFilters according to your processor (32 bit or 64 bit) [MUST].

3. Extract LAVFilters and install all three bat files (install_audio, install_splitter, install video)
    Don't forget to Right Click - Run as Administrator.

4. Now open Subtitle Edit and drag the video in (or click Video menu at the top - Open Video File).

5. Right Click - Insert line on the text box (the blank page) to add first text script of video. Adjust time between your line text and video till the end.

6. To add color to your subtitle file, on the text box press CTRL + A and then right click - choose Color... Select color you want. But if you just want to coloring a certain line just right click -  choose Color... at the line text you want.

7. After you are done, click File menu - Save and Save as type : SubRip to save your work as subtitle file.

Done, now you can create your own subtitle with Subtitle Edit.

Note :
Click Unbreak to : combine 2 line sentences.
Click Auto br to : create a new line.
Cream Sign means : your sentence need to create a new line.
